In last week’s post, we discussed the importance of getting feedback from your website visitors and those within your organization to find out what they want from your website and if they think your current website is useful.
This week, I want to share with you how to get this information. For this post, we will use a church website as the example. Below are…
5 Secrets to Getting Feedback about Your Website:
- Make it as easy as possible for your participants. Meeting people where they are at is HUGE in getting feedback from people. This means that you will need to set up ways for people to provide feedback in writing (handouts at church services), in person (have folks with tablets taking surveys as people leave service), on social media (post a link on Facebook, Instagram, or other social media), and on your website.
- Make it easy as possible for you as an organization to implement and compile the results. Using a service like Google Forms or Survey Monkey will make this process easy.
- Don’t make it too long. Unless you are giving something in exchange for people participating in the survey, don’t make the survey too long. It is better to get a lot of responses to a few questions than get a few answers to many questions.
- Determine your minimum number of responses for an accurate assessment. Whatever that number may be (25, 100, 250), continue to talk about it and ask for participants until you reach that number.
- Thank the participants and share the results. People like to know that their participation is valued and enjoy seeing how their responses compare to the group in a whole. Doing this will show them you value them and their time AND make it more likely for them to participate next time.
