A recent survey from WebMarketing123 found that SEO is the most effective marketing strategy for generating leads. The companies surveyed consider SEO to be 2 – 3 times more effective at generating leads than either pay-per-click (like Adwords) or social media.
Even with the growing popularity of social marketing, the survey indicates that SEO is considered more effective than even just one year ago, with SEO increasing nearly 20% year over year for B2C businesses. So, even with all the talk about social marketing, SEO is on the rise.
SearchEngineLand.com did a good analysis of the survey, which you can read at:

I totally agree. In today's day and age, everyone has a smart phone. And if they need a to find a church, they know it is a quick Google away. We've worked with churches in the past, and it really does work!
Also, it is no surprise that the organic SEO beats PPC also, people are accustomed to being 'shoppers' online. Which is why the number one position organically, on average, gets more than all of the paid advertisers combined for that term.
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose." That means He can use the Internet to blow some souls Heavenward! Great write up, I'm subscribing as I expect some good feedback.
Hi David,
Thanks. It's always great to hear about real world results from SEO, especially in regards churches. Sometimes it's hard for churches to see the benefits as it can be difficult to know that the person who just walked in the door did it because they found you on Google.
In regards to PPC, I think a lot of people have gotten used to ignoring those listings. I know I have. That's not to say they can't be beneficial, just that SEO is usually more beneficial.
God bless!
Very true brother. Thanks for the nice write up and your efforts to push the gospel through technology. I pray God blesses it!
I really love this article and I would have to say that SEO has trememendously helped our church gain a larger voice in our community and has helped families find a place to get connected to a life-giving church. Here is a link to the SEO service we used… He is extremely conscientious and gets results and you probably won't find many out there who are as courteous, professional, and skilled in SEO as David Dischler. http://www.daviddischler.com/

I agree. For direct lead generation Local SEO works the best for our clients when they get in the top fold of the search engine for good lead producing keywords. We use the PPC to determine which keywords to optimize for and then continue to utilize it as long as it produces a return on investment. Running both campaign simultaneously we see SEO outperform the PPC by 25-50%.
Frank, that's a great way to synergize your marketing efforts. Great tip!
Yes, today most of the business is using SEO services to advertise their business over internet and SEO companies are providing them such services that make them beneficial.
Definitely, through SEO you can get more leads rather than ppc and social media sites,. You need to optimize your website in that way that you can appear on the first page of google so probability of click increase.
