Everyone’s buzzing about Twitter these days. Twitter is the hottest new thing for churches, and writing about churches using Twitter is the hot new thing for bloggers, tech publications, and even big-time media like Time Magazine. I blogged about it a few weeks ago, myself (see Church Promotes Twittering During Service). But now that I’ve read about so many articles on the subject they are all starting to sound the same.
I almost didn’t bother to read the article published on MSNBC yesterday, but I’m glad I did because it’s got some of the funniest quotes I’ve read so far….
“I was in the back of the sanctuary tweeting the sermon and an usher came over and told me I couldn’t do that there,” says Neely, who attends the Agape International Spiritual Church. “They thought I was violating the copyright,”
My wife doesn’t approve of my tweeting in church and at a prayer breakfast
People will ask me ‘What if someone says something bad? What if they say the F-word and it’s right there on the screen for everyone [in church] to read?’
Someone could get on and pose as Satan or tweet ‘This is God and I hate you.’
Can you imagine [Jesus’s] killer status updates? ‘Jesus is walking on water and freaking out his disciples.’
Hilarious stuff.
If there’s one bit of irony it’s that the article quotes JohnAcuff, who writes StuffChristiansLike.net and has had me laughing so hard I cried, and his quote is completely serious.
You can read the full article here if you want, but I have to warn you, I’ve already pilfered all the funny lines.

you need to do full posts in RSS… your excerpts are killing me.
Shesh John, what’s next? Do you want me to call you and read each post to you over the phone? 😉
