Phil Cooke posted an excellent article telling the story of Mary Hutchinson’s experiment into what happens when a spiritual seeker goes to a broadcast television ministry’s website looking for spiritual guidance. The results were shockingly poor.

Which best describes your organization's approach to assessing the value/ROI of social media?

We diligently track the source of all sales/goals so we know what social media is producing.
We look at trends. If our use of social media correlates with an increase in our sales/goals that indicates it's value.
You can't put a dollar value on relationships and so we don't try to assess the value/ROI of social media.
We're doing some tracking of the source of sales/goals, so we have some numbers, but we also recognize there's more to the value of social media than those numbers.
