Waylon Bailey serves as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Covington, Louisiana, a position that he has held since 1989. Prior to that time he served for seventeen years as the J. Wash Watts Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew and the Chairman of the Division of Biblical Studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
