Last week we discussed the question Is SEO Dead? (Spoiler alert – it’s not! But I encourage you to read the article to see which specific SEO (search engine optimization) tactics are dead.)
Forbes published a good article by Steve Olenski that makes for a good follow-up article. It’s titled
7 Reasons Why Your Business Should Invest In SEO
If you’re not a business leader, that’s cool, the 7 reasons also apply to churches, schools and ministries. Here they are:
- It still works
- It is not going to stop working any time soon
- It is cost-effective
- Search engines grabbing more market share
- Rise of mobile bandwidth and local search optimization
- Not having a healthy content profile is damaging
- Your competitors are doing it
I encourage you to read the full article as it provides a good explanation of each of the reasons to invest in SEO.
Let me leave you with one final quote from the article:
“Investing in organic SEO is more important now than ever before… Your [organization] definitely needs to have an SEO strategy in place if you are interested in succeeding in terms of online marketing; it remains one of the single most important components of any organization’s branding efforts and online presence.”
Do you view SEO as an investment? One that provides a worthwhile return? Why or why not?
