Are You Fan of the Duck?

DuckDuckGoOnline privacy has been a big issue in the minds of people for years, especially since the revelation of the NSA snooping programs.  As these concerns grew, there just happened to be a search engine that resolved that issue by not tracking people as they searched.  That search engine is DuckDuckGo.

Over the past year or so, DuckDuckGo has seen a huge surge in usage, gaining over 40% in just the past 6 months.  And, while they are still a relatively small player in the world of search, this past month they made some significant deals with Apple which may dramatically increase their number of users.  In addition, they just launched a new version of DuckDuckGo which produces better results and includes many new features.

I’ll tell you all about the surprising advances for DuckDuckGo, recent updates with Google, and other important news in this month’s video update.

  • Are you concerned about online privacy?  Do you think it’s OK that Google, Bing, Facebook, and many others track you?
  • Have you or are you planning to try DuckDuckGo?

  1. Ooouch, I am not quite that fan of Duckgogo. ;-)
Just regarding the results. But why not; can't tell much as I am not uset to this Search Machine. It might become an good alternative to what we have at hands now.
    Cheers!

  2. I can't say I know anything about Duckgogo…

  3. When great metaengine like webcrawler will be a must?

    • I don't see metaengines getting big. They had a short run where they got some traffic (though nothing too impressive), but these days they have such a small market share none of the market share reports even include them anymore and I don't see that improving.

  4. I've never heard of DuckDuckGo but just tried it out and like it. I will use it again. Thanks for sharing!
