Take a Stand Against Vertical Video Syndrome!

vertical_video_syndromNo doubt you’ve seen people shooting videos with their phones held vertically. Well, someone has finally created a video to try to put an end to this growing problem.

Have a look… and a laugh. (and pardon the bleeps)

While the video is not exactly serious, it does raise a somewhat serious question…

Are vertical videos “bad?” Not in an evil sort of way, but by shooting videos in a non-standard format, does it hinder their usefulness and provide a poor user experience?

Or could this be the start of a new trend similar to the way Instagram single-handedly made square photos not only acceptable but a new standard?

I've often thought that. I guess the usefulness depends on the preferred display. Does it live forever on the phone or does it want to see a TV?

Good point Aaron. If you're just going to keep the video on your phone and not share it, it doesn't really matter.
