Communications Resolution #2: Google Plus
Hi, in this video I’m continuing the series on my 7 Communications Resolutions for 2013 with resolution 2: Google Plus. Find out out why I think this is going to be a big year for Google+ and why I’ll be investing more time and effort to engage there.
I’m optimistic about Google+ for two big reasons:
1) Google search results are personalized.
Google thinks the things you like and share on G+ are more relevant to the people you know. So, those things rank higher in the search results for the people you’re connected with in G+ “circles” and your connection’s connections.
2) G+ is innovating while Facebook is alienating.
Facebook has been introducing changes in an effort to generate more revenue and in the process they’ve been frustrating and alienating their users. Meanwhile G+ hangouts are gaining in popularity and Google Plus just introduced groups. For these reasons, I believe in 203 Google Plus will reach a tipping point and move from “early adopter” phase to “early majority.”
What are your thoughts on Google Plus? Post a comment, discuss and feel free to include a link to your G+ profile.
