Social Media for Pastors and Church Planters Webinar Video, Slides and Resources
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Social Media for Pastors and Church Planters Webinar yesterday. We got lots of great comments and questions, which I really appreciate.
If you are interested in watching the webinar, I’ve embedded video of it below. I’ve also uploaded the slides from my presentation as a PDF which you can view here: Social Media for Pastors and Church Planters slides
In the webinar I referenced the Practical Steps for Getting Started in Social Media blog series.
We have also launched a new service, the 50 Point Social media Review. I will personally review your organizations website, blog, Facebook page, and Twitter profile plus your personal Facebook profile and Twitter profile, let you know what you’re doing well, provide a set of recommendations, and discuss them with you. You can get a substantial discount if you order the service in the next week.
If you participated in the webinar or watched it here, what do you think? What did you find most helpful? Where could it be improved? What other aspects of social media for pastors and church planters would you like to learn more about?

Awesome–can I have a copy of the slides? We're getting started in SM at our Church, this would be very helpful. Pastor Tom Wray, Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio
Hi Tom, there's a link to the slide in the post above:

this is a wonderful development and I must commend pastor paul for this great idea… may the Lord prosper this work. Amen
Thanks apostle mmacnelson!
In addition to social media, I am seeing a wide range of modern technology and tools that can benefit churches and their members. Religious apps for smartphones, free and open source Bibles, Bible study materials, church management, missions and much more. These can be found on web sites like http://religion.cositech.net and other non-profit Christian technology web sites. They're worth actively exploring.
Finally got around to watching this. Really wish I could have made it the day it was held, as it looks like you had a lot of great interactivity.
Are there any tools out there to help create a good welcome tab for a church facebook page? This has been the only thing keeping me from launching our page. We have a group right now, but it's only being utilized by members of the church. I'm thinking a few more people would "like" our page if we had one.
I have the technical and graphical know-how to design a page from scratch, but time is always a factor, and I'm wondering if there are any tools out there to speed up the process.
Hi Chris, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question. I've never created a welcome tab and we don't have one for the OurChurch.Com FB page or my church's.
Hey Paul, great stuff – can I use some of your content (with credit) to try and help our church and denomination to understand social media?
Thanks
Ian
Hi Ian, can you tell me more specifically how you want to use it? It's probably fine, but I'd like to hear more about your plans just to be sure.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for this wonderful post. May god be with us all.
Judith
