  1. Sorry, Twitter ID should be paulchild5 – got a bit keyboard-happy!

  2. The best movie we saw this year, hands down, was Toy Story 3. My entire family enjoyed it, from toddlers to teens. Can't beat that!

  3. Difficult to pick a favourite book because I love reading, but I would probably have to go for A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Beautifully written, harrowing & disturbing at times, it's a powerful depiction of what life has been like for women in Afghanistan for the past few decades, moving into the rule of the Taliban and up to life in 2003. If you like books that make you think & give insights into other cultures, regimes & religions this is a must-read.

  4. Radical by David Platt was a good read and challenging as well. http://twitter.com/#!/brentm00/status/17367509699

    Favorite movie was Inception

  7. So i really don't read books, watch movies, and I don't know what songs I listen to that are 2010 so I'll suggest a couple books that I have "wanted" to read that are 2010 but haven't done so yet.
    – Christian Athiest by Craig Groeschel
    – Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick

I'm @tijuanabecky on Twitter, and Becky Beery on Facebook (posted to both).

  8. I'd have to say that "Radical" by David Platt is by far the best and most challenging book of my year, maybe of my decade! It has helped me to draw nearer to Christ every day as I have focused on God's holiness.

  9. Best is impossible for me with books. My reading highs this year were Chris Guillebeau's Art of Nonconformity, Don Miller's A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, Alice Munro's Runaway and Hannah's Child by Stanley Hauerwas. All great for different reasons.

  10. I really don't get time to read books. __But I watch movies, mostly Indian movies like "Yentiran" which has songs from Oscar winner A R Rahman____I (Dinesh Jacob ) have shared the link on Facebook

My vote is also for Radical by David Platt. A close second was the Hole in Our Gospel.

    I tweeted.

  12. I'd say the best book was Satchel Paige: The Life and Times of an American Legend. The best audiobook was either 1920: The Year of the Six Presidents or Radical by David Platt.

  16. Best book I read this year was "Christian Atheist" by Craig Groeschel. Very strong, and right on!

Congrats JD Eddins @jdeddins, you've won the $25 Amazon gift card! Woohoo!

Thanks to everyone who commented and shared the link to this post. Lots of interesting books and movies you all recommended. Five of you said Radical by David Platt was the best book you read this year, so I'm gonna have to read it for myself.

Most of all, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. As nice as it is to get gift cards, we have all been given the ultimate gift which all blows all other gifts away and that of course is Jesus. Enjoy and celebrate His birth!

  19. Awe, I missed it..oh well..looks like you had some good participation..well maybe I can participate in your next contest…I am currently reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" for the first time..great book..not sure what others I read this year if any.
