With the emergence of geolocation software/games like Foursquare, Gowalla, etc., I am wondering what benefits you might see for use for churches who already have heavy users of social media. What practical applications do you see for the church? I'm not sure about the whole idea of knocking someone off as mayor of the church or even aspiring to even be the mayor. Help me widen my gaze here.
Great question Chris. Plus the mayor would undoubtedly be a paid staff member unless they were specifically excluded from participating.
i see different churches using different types of pages on Facebook — some legacy pages from before the last big FB changeover. Local Business seems too restrctive and I see some suggest you use the Products /Product/Organization category. I would be inclined in that direction. Which do you think is the best type of page for a church, that will yield the most interactivity AND
Interesting question Cynthia. I know Facebook asks you to categorize your organization when you build a page, but I didn't realize Pages were different for each category.
