From May 23-28, LifeChurch.tv and XXXChurch.com will present ThePornEvent.com, a 25-minute
interactive experience focused on the real-life effects of pornography.  The event is being offered at 40 different times over the 6 day period.

ThePornEvent.com has two segments, one for men and one for women. During ThePornEvent.com they will examine the effect porn has on our lives and relationships, and look at next steps for those who are struggling

Think porn doesn’t affect you?  Think again…

Relevant Statistics

  • 42.7% of Internet users view porn
  • 53% of Christian men consume pornography.
  • Breakdown of male/female visitors to pornography sites: 72% male & 28% female
  • 17% of all women struggle with pornography addiction.
  • 90% of 8-16-year-olds have viewed porn online (most while doing homework).

If you don’t struggle with porn personally, it’s almost certain that someone close to you does.

Ladies-Only Sessions

As you can see from the stats porn is not just a “guy problem.”  Many women struggle with it too.  That’s why ThePornEvent.com has more than 1/3 of its events designated for women online.  They will not only address women’s struggles with porn, but also how to support the men in their lives who are struggling with sexual addictions.

Got Kids?

If you have kids, no matter how old they are it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to protect your computers and talk to them about the dangers of porn.  I have 3 kids myself – an 8 year old, a 6 year old, and a 3 year old.  All 3 of them are already regularly using computers that are connected to the Internet.  I know I need to be proactive on this issue for their sake.

Expect a non-threatening environment featuring stories, helpful answers, and an open conversation with people who have traveled a similar path.  For more details go to ThePornEvent.com

With porn so big on the Internet, I think it’s awesome that the biggest church on the Internet, LifeChurch.tv is stepping up to take on this issue.

How big a concern do you think pornography is?

How prepared do you feel you are to battle porn, not just in your own life but in the lives of your spouse, your kids, your friends, and your church?
