Today marks Christian Web Trends’ first birthday. To celebrate we would like to thank the people who have contributed to the success of this blog, take a look back at some of the highlights of the first year, and a look at what lies ahead.
Thanks!
First of all, I would like to thank all of the OCC staff members who contributed articles to the blog this year – Pam, Kurt, and Jon. Kudos to Pam who suggested the idea of a blog and then installed and configured WordPress to facilitate this blog. Most of all, we would like to thank all of you who read the blog on a regular basis and contribute to the conversation by posting comments. You are the whole reason the Christian Web Trends blog exists.
A Look Back
If you like statistics you might be interested to know that in its first year there were 57 articles posted and 501 comments. The three most popular articles as measured by the number of comments were:
#3) Is MySpace Safe? (24 comments)
#2) What is MySpace – the Series? (25 comments)
By far the most commented on article, with 55 comments was:
#1) Can the virtual church replace the physical church?
Obviously, the number of comments doesn’t make these articles the best or most helpful, but never the less we thought it was interesting.
A Look Ahead
So, what does the future hold for the Christian Web Trends blog? The focus is going to continue to be on helping people understand how best to use the Internet and communications technology for the building of God’s kingdom. We would like to take that a step further this year by colaberating more with other people who share our passion for the Internet and Christian ministry. So, we are looking to experiment with guest bloggers, interview industry leaders, and more regularly bring to your attention insightful articles on other blogs. If you would like to colaberate with us or have other thoughts on this matter, please let us know.
The specific topics we discuss will depend on what interests us and what interests you. That’s why your feedback is so important. If you’d like to give CWT a birthday present, there’s nothing we’d appreciate more than for you to completed our online survey or post a comment here telling us what you found most helpful this past year and what you’d like to read more about in the future.
Thanks again to all of you who read Christian Web Trends. We hope it’s impacted you and your ministry for the better.
In His Service,
Paul Steinbrueck
